REFLECTION

EXPERIENCE: During these 14 weeks I found the experience to be interesting and challenging. I was not only academically but mentally challenged. I enjoyed the tasks as they tested my creativity. My favourite task was the first task which was the Type expressions I had quite a lot of fun with coming up with sketches and digitilising them. This module taught me the art of looking sideways and the importance to detail.

OBSERVATION: Asking for feedback and help and doing research before hand will always make my work easier and help me produce quality work. I observed that it is important to look at other students work and compare it to my own and also have good relationships with my peers as they helped me with technical struggles I went through. I observed that I am right brained mostly when it comes to design and sometimes that leads to chaos. I was not necessarily the best at text formatting and I am still learning and improving.

FINDINGS: Knowledge on Typography can help incredibly in other design aspects as I applied the knowledge I learned in my Digital imaging and photography as well as my Illustration and visual narrative module. There are so many online free resources that designers can use to make their work better. Learning key technical skills like shortcut keys is beneficial and helps save time. Further reading is a necessity in being a good designer.
