REFLECTION

Experience:

Advanced Typography proved to be an immensely rewarding experience, offering a blend of challenge and creativity that pushed me to excel. The module demanded a high level of creativity and attention to detail, providing an opportunity to apply and consolidate the knowledge acquired in previous Typography courses. The journey was not only educational but also deeply enjoyable, allowing me to delve into the intricacies of advanced typographic design.

Observation:

A key observation from this module was the necessity to allocate dedicated time each day to prevent a buildup of tasks. This consistent effort was crucial in managing the workload effectively. Engaging with the module revealed my particular enjoyment for creating posters and developing branding concepts. The practical application of learned principles, such as good composition, became evident, contributing to the improvement of my design sensibilities. This module served as a platform for honing my skills in both conceptualization and execution. My favourite task was Task 2 it helped me not only in my design skills but it also pushed me to understand what kind of person I am and showed me the importance on bringing purpose to design.

Findings:

One notable finding was the invaluable role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the realm of typography. The use of AI proved to be a time-saving asset, particularly in the process of image selection. By leveraging AI, the need for extensive web searches to find suitable images was significantly reduced. This not only streamlined the workflow but also allowed for a more efficient use of time, emphasizing the practical benefits of integrating technology into the design process. I found that embracing technological tools can enhance productivity and contribute to a more effective and enjoyable design experience.

In summary, the Advanced Typography module provided a challenging yet enjoyable experience, emphasizing the importance of consistent effort, the refinement of design skills, and the practical advantages of incorporating AI into the creative process. The blend of creativity and technicality in this module contributed to a holistic learning experience, leaving me with both newfound skills and a heightened appreciation for the art and science of advanced typography.
