PROCESS
I was leaning towards doing a website for a movie as I watch a lot of movies and actually rewatch them as comfort films and felt it would be a fun and I could include a lot of elements from the movies. The movies I was thinking about were
- Minions
- Shrek
I then told Mr Shamsul about the ideas and he suggested that I keep the main focus as Shrek as a character and to make sure the concept of the website is clear.
I then went on to think about the different elements to include in the website and the type of interactive elements and what kind of font to use.
Elements to have
- About shrek section
- famous quotes
- famous songs
I then looked at some websites for reference like the bon jovi website as well as other websites for inspiration and got inspiration from there. I also rewatched the first shrek to gain inspiration for the different animations for the wesbite.
After getting inspiration I went on to do my flow chart of how I'd like my website to be.
- I have a love for the show will make the website engaging and genuine.
- Beloved Cast: Featuring memorable characters like Phineas, Ferb, Candace, and Dr. Doofenshmirtz.
- Character Depth: Each character is unique and relatable, perfect for detailed bios and fun facts.
- Musical Variety: Known for its catchy, diverse songs that fans love.
REFLECTION
Experience
During the assignment, I initially found it difficult to come up with ideas for the exact concept of the website. However, after reviewing some reference websites, I gained a clearer direction for what I wanted my website to be like. These references were crucial in guiding my design process and helping me visualize the end product. Additionally, the tight deadline made it overwhelming, but breaking down tasks and setting small goals helped me manage the workload more effectively.
Observation
I observed that watching some episodes of Phineas and Ferb, which was fun, provided great inspiration for the layout, wireframes, and potential elements for the website, including animations. This creative exercise helped me think outside the box and incorporate engaging features into my design. I also noticed that taking breaks to engage with the content I was designing around helped me stay motivated and inspired.
Findings
I found that once I started researching more and rewatching Phineas and Ferb, coming up with the proposal became much easier. The show's vibrant and imaginative style offered plenty of ideas for unique design elements and animations. This approach not only made the task less daunting but also ensured that my website would have a cohesive and appealing theme. Through this process, I learned the importance of thorough research and how drawing inspiration from multiple sources can significantly enhance the quality of my work.
