STOP MOTION
As our final project we are meant to pair up and create a stop motion about
a topic of choice that could raise awareness about a certain issue. We
decided to raise awareness about what is happening in Palestine and share
our knowledge with others because this is an on going genocide that requires
recognition of everyone in the world.
We started off by brainstorming ideas of what exactly we want to represent
about this topic and narrowed the idea to speak of the bombing of families
and how some members witness the murder of their family members right before
their eyes.
STOP MOTION PROPOSAL
We then purchased the material and made the characters as well as doing the
set up.
Crafting the clay figures posed a challenging task, yet it brought us joy
despite encountering an issue.
During filming, we had a dilemma as the clay began to soften and melt due to
the intense heat from the lights. To prevent it from completely falling
apart before completing the shoot, we had to take intermittent breaks.
THE PROCESS
the process
It took us 3 hours to shoot the video and the clay kept melting but we powered
through and managed to complete the stop motion.
unedited stop motion
I then imported the footage to capcut and added different filters and audios
to bring life to the stop motion.
adding paper introduction
I found a green screen video of paper unfolding and used the chrome key to remove the green part.
adding sound effects
I then looked for bombing sounds and ominous sounds to add to the black screen.
adding title of film at the end
using overlay mix trasition
FINAL STOP MOTION
FEEDBACK
- The clay needed to be done in advance so maybe it hardens or looks better.
- The video sends the correct message it intends to, it is sad but good
