Task 2: Shooting Practice & Editing
This assignment aims to explore students to production shooting and
editing environment.
Project 2 consist of: 2 x Shooting & Editing exercise (Shooting:
Group; Editing:Individual).
First we were split into two groups and had to distribute different roles
and shoot the different scenes according to the story board.
During our week 4 class Mr Martin showed each person how to use the
equipment and how to do their said roles at first I wanted to be an actress
but I eventually opted for the role of director because it looked slighlty
more challenging and like being challenged.

fig learning how to do our roles
We had to recreate the scenes from the movie Silent which is basically a
Japanese drama about how there was a couple who were lovers then suddenly he
vanished into thin air.
We then shot the scenes and figuring out the right angle and making sure we
have a good composition for each shot was a bit difficult but eventually we
got good shots.
I created some lines for the storyboard that can bring out the meaning to
each scene.

The producer then synced the audios from the videos and gave us our
best clips so that we can begin editing them.
ARRANGING THE CLIPS
Mr Marting advised us not to follow the storyboard order and put the clips
in our own order and then edit them as a trailer
PROJECT 2B:SELF TITLED
INSTA/TIKTOK PROPOSAL
I basically shot the video at one go and then got clips from the reallyyyy
long video it was about 26mins long then began editing the clips on cap
cut. I filmed using the back of my phone using the cinematic mode for good picture quality.
EDITING PROCESS
adding sound effects and background audio
adding sound for typewriter text
colour grading video
using bad bunny filter to colour grade
using different transitions to make the video engaging
FINAL SELF TITLED
REFLECTION
Experience : This was a fun exercise and everyone did their part well. I enjoyed being a director as I do like taking leadership roles.
Observation : Getting a good shot needs the director to understand the actors personality and communicate well with the actor in order to bring out a given emotion.
Findings : I found that colour grading sets the tone of the film and it can create a desired atmosphere. I also found that I really enjoy creating content and editing it and I hope to further my skills and create my own content.
